THE WORDS OF HENRY LAWSON ( An early Australian Poet and Writer )
( This has one appreciate the likes of Poetrypoem
and those responsible for it being ,,
As well as all the every importunity we have
this day and age to have our poetry published ,
Without all the holier than thou dictating to
all for center stage as was once long ago )
Henry Lawson said long ago
And I quote to you-
What it is he said back then
Look it up ..For it is true-
My advice to any young Australian writer
Whose talents have been recognised .. would be-
To go storage .. stow away .. or swim
Far across the sea -
Seek London .. Yankeeland
Or even Timbucktoo -
Rather than stay in Australia
My advice it is for you-
Before your genius turns to gall or beer
And failing this take it from me-
My advice is to study
Elementary anatomy-
And shoot yourself very carefully
That is what I have to say-
It's my advice dear writer
So cheerio and hooray-
The words Of Henry Lawnon and
my poem re same ..
Henry Lawson was one of the best and most
original bush poets in Australia ..
