In Retrospect
Behind the past are things remembered
Of younger days and too the members
Of those we loved and those still here
Our yesterdays, today appear
We ran buck wild and left a trail
Of memories today some frail
Will come to mind, will leave their mark
You close your eyes and body park
Here in neutral these days of old
Return to speak of what time stole
A piece of you who wished today
Could be again, a warm replay
Here you sit and confess things
Of what was then, upon heart press
The scent, the feel of what you held
Those that you loved, their story tell
There, comfort will be for now
There where X marks time now spared
In silence yours, in gentle care
The pieces play with kind blank stare
A smile will run, across your face
Forgotten act, welcomed embrace
The need to fill the barren land
Of emptiness as was Gods plan
Review, rerun, rewind, return
To what was yours, not hard to find
For in the Myst just steps away
Are all good things today for prayed
