Twist of Nature
Flood submerging a community
no one is entitled of immunity
gushing water claiming every property
cries and wailing; a heart-wrenching ceremony.
The once tourist attraction scenery
and rich structures by ancient ancestry
now stripped of it's natural beauty
swimming in streams of naked reality.
Deaths scoring outrageously
sickness and hunger assail mercilessly
albeit aid pouring in endlessly
the anguish and pains persist aimlessly.
Nature is angered so it seems
prayers of forgiveness uttered by victims
loved ones perish and tomorrow dims
the orphans behind will nurture broken dreams.
In my own little way I pray
for all departing souls everyday
tears flowing with flood as I say,
“Thou grant, oh Lord, an added strength for the bearings, Thee lay.”
