Can "I Love You" ever be said again
In a poem already born by the pen
With words that bring more
Than a sky full of dreams
Or the infinite starlight
Between the moon beams
Or the Sol that shines brighter
Than treasures of gold
Its yield from the pyramids
Of ages untold
Or the oceans abyss
Beyond measures of bliss
As waves ebb the tide
Toward the sands with a kiss?
Alas, I fear naught
No words for "I Love You"
Can ever be taught
In form or adornment
Or any new thought
Already begged for
Borrowed or bought.
Instead they can find
Their true satisfactions
When proffered together
With meaningful actions.

We found one another
In the dream of a day
Smiled with our eyes
And knew what to say.
Walking along holding
Hands in the park
Sharing the awe
of a sunset's remark.
"I Love You" said he
"I Love You" said I
Then we embraced
Beneath the dim sky.
We walked down the aisle
To pledge our devotions
Only God's Blessings
Brought forth new emotions.
Laughing together
At tales each had told
Over and over
Never stale, never old.
Helping each other
Through stressful years
Kissing away
Each others sad tears.
Mistakes that were made
By happenstance
Were erased by a smile
And another dance.
Deep secrets each one
Had stored away
Were accepted with Love
As part of Life's play.
"NG" was our motto
"NO GUILT" would we bear
"I Love You" said daily
And SHOWING we care.
