Power's Depth

The streets of Libya are now brimming with gaiety
At the news of the death of the dictator Gadhafi
Bringing an end to what was a period of terror
Which  was a hallmark of that era under Noam Mar?

He took over in a bloodless coup, looking so youthful and strong
With the energy then to command respect from those around
Then there was such wealth flowing beneath the country's soil
As it were producer and a supplier of that resource, oil

Now with a country so well of and also in a state so solvent
Was able to amass a wide variety of armament
And in his wake there were terrorist attacks, mainly targeting
Any area that may have in it numbers some American citizens.

But the wind of change was blowing quietly but yet
It had that force to topple the leader of Egypt
As the people now want a life so comparatively
With what they can now see in other countries.

Then came that morn, which now herald in Libya's turn
His oppressive system they were now willing to spurn
He resisted stubbornly but that determination and persistence
Most certainly brought pressure to bear on his resistance

AS town after town began to fall into the hand of his enemies
This certainly struck such fear, causing some defection in the armies
It only goes to show no matter how long there always comes that hour
There will always that difference cause by the force of the people's power.

There seems to be no deterrent in the life of a tyrant
Even with the passage of time seems to think he is still youthful and vibrant
The realities of growing old, still do not want to relinquish that hold
So only the strong arm of death will terminate that control.
