Chrysanthemum Days
Chrysanthemum days when I needed you
Everything grew into the light of morning
All my dreams sank deep within my heart
And the love I felt suddenly found wings
And the beauty I needed all at once was real.
I have this hope that nestles in my soul
A hope that one day everything will be alright
And we will laugh as we once did in better days
When golden light surrounded us eternally
And we talked of things that didn't really matter
But meant so much to us at that moment.
Memories sparkle somewhere in my mind
Flowers I gave to you in moments of rapture
In awe of the radiance of your enchanted eyes
Wondering how your words all once were poetry
And your movements a dance to the music of time.
Chrysanthemum days when I expressed my emotions
As freely as a bird wheels into the blue skies
And your smile shone ceaselessly through my being.
