My Little Friend and I

The day's dull and rainy
Feelin so blue, my eyes teary;
Just when I noticed a little friend before me
Fluttering, swaying so free.

I wonder what she's doing in a day so wet
Ah…maybe, she'll soon regret;
But oh no…she remains and never stops
Her wings of white, opens, closes and flaps.

Scrutinizing ... studying every blade
Perhaps, she needs a rest on a bud or just a little shade;
Then she settles on a leaf  peacefully
Watching her by the porch closely.

I smile, my little friend surmounts the test
From the rain and wind…life's tempest
A fighter…that's my little friend;
She never gives up but perseveres up to the end.

The day turns out, amusing
I see, life is never-ending;
Every moment is a beginning
Of Sublime beauty unfolding

Such as my little friend…
And I...comprehend.
