Come With Me Son
To my grandson Kevin who sadly passed away on 26/10/11 He was only 22, God rest his soul.
I know that if you had the chance
You`re life would not be gone
Another place another time
You`d still be here my son
But God has plans and sad to say
He said you had to go today
I know for you life was not fair
Perhaps God knew it too
So took you up on heavens stair
To show his love for you
And now you hold your baby tight
Can kiss her tiny cheek goodnight
God works in many wondrous ways
`Though sorrow is the price
Sometimes He says enough`s enough
And then he rolls the dice
Come here my lad he calls your name
Come with me son I`ll take you hame.
I did not get to know you well
But yet I still can see
A memory within my mind
Of you upon my knee
If only life was not so sad
We might have helped you bonnie lad
As it is I send a prayer
And beg the Lord to be
Always there beside you son
If this was meant to be
I know at last you are at peace
And all the earthly tears have ceased
No more sorrow, no more pain
All have faded to the past
Now you`ll live beside your wean
Smiling joyfully at last
You have no choices left to make
In Heaven now and no mistake
Bless you son love from your Daddy
And all who love you bonnie laddie.
