When we were boys just smaller and adventureous
We never let a single chance for fun ever go by
Some of the things we did away back when
Would have parents today in shock give a cry
We had a man call once a week so very early
He had a big truck and delivered the toilet can
At all un earthly hours of the morning time too
And he always whistled this same did the toilet man
He would dance up beside of our house back then
With the empty new one firmly on his shoulder
And he would carefull carry the full one back
He never seemed as if he was getting any older
My friend lived next door to the house I lived
And one day we got this ever bright idea did we
To place a trip wire across the side of house
After he went around the back tighten it with glee
My frind would pull it just off the ground enough
So in the dark the can man would not at all see
And after what we hoped happened then next
We would pull it in and roll it up my friend and me
Around the back went the whisling new can man
We tightened it giggling as I remember long ago
And when he came back the wire was not slack
Upside down he went on the lawn would not you know
He was covered in fertalizer and slipping some
As he tried to get back up in what was there
A real halloween type of agonizing scream
It ever so echoed within the morning air
My mother she looked out of the window then
He sat feeling silly now a different kind of shade
I remember she said well the lawn will grow well
After this mess that you have this morning made
she then came into my little room next to hers
And yes I was ever so fast asleep counting sheep
I heard her make a hhmmmmm kind of noise
But I then never made a not even one single peep.
