Away up in those Snowy mountains
Around the highest plains n ridges~
Men have ridden and worked from dawn to dusk
From mountain to mountain without roads or bridges~
All different times of year they would see
The endless blossoming of mountain flowers~
A land of peak and highest ever splendor
magestic views to be seen there by the hour~
It's as lovely in the summer time
But it can be as very dangerous too~
As it can be in the peak of winter time
When all is white and blue~
Its always been the same from so far back
Nobody ever damaged it before~
Before the city folk came up in thousands
Way back before the last world war~
If it was still left to mountain people
It would remain as lovely as it's always been~
The Snowy Mountain a heaven on earth
From the peaks down to those mountain streams~
Where the rivers begins from away up there
And the country mostly virgin wild~
Heat in the summer and cold in the winter
Is at times and can be anything but mild~
But some people cannot leave well enough alone
They came up and made it a national park ~
And gave everyone a million rules to follow
And it mostly took away the Snowy's spark~
Away up in the Snowy Mountains
Where real stock men worked for years~
Its simply not the same these days anymore
Modern times and life have almost dried the tears~
