His Passion (Our Redemption)"He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, accustomed to infirmity, One of those from whom men hide their faces, spurned, and we held him in no esteem. Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted. But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed." -Isaiah 53:2-5 His Name was blasphemed. He was silent. Like a scoundrel He was condemned. He was patient. He was betrayed, others sneered and laughed. To His detractors, it was never enough. He was scourged excruciatingly, whip after whip, He received no mercy. His back terribly lacerated, blood spurting on the ground He paraded Carrying His heavy cross, a crown of thorns on His head embossed. The Blessed Mother wept in agony while long, sharp nails pierced through His hands and feet so deeply. Again and again, He was mocked and insulted, His love never wanes, His forgiveness never ended. After He gave up His spirit to the Father, His pure love triumphs over death forever. He is Jesus, our Savior and King His faithfulness, steadfastly everlasting! by: Elena Maria Mana-ay Parcon Date written: September 18, 2011 Vote for this poem
