THERE
Who were the men that were there?
I know him…you know him.
We all know him!
How do we know him?
The instant you look into his eyes,
and shake his hand…you know he
was there!
You may have never met before.
He's your brother in arms.
You have both passed in harms-way.
You proudly exchange, "Where and when"
For a moment, you feel young again.
Almost a half a century ago, you were warriors.
That moment in another time quickly passes.
You shake hands and perhaps, render a quick salute.
WE all know, WHO WAS THERE!
