Three half fallen walls left of rock and mud
Almost covered by smothering oldest wild fig tree~
And it had grown right through this old bush hut
Where once stood a fire place and it's chimney~
Proof still about of this once magnificent spot
Once enjoyed no doubt by family of a few~
Still four days from simply anywhere at all
Up the top of Australia not far from ocean blue~
There had been here an old outside bath in stone
Another tree grew there so very much the same~
It seemed to be a wild cherry tree of some kind
That found good soil in search of from the rain~
A deepest old water well it stood quite near
And the top fashioned from rock and mud as well~
The track that I drove upon stopped 3 miles away
And overgrown scrub hid the hut as if never to tell~
I'd taken the horse out from the float back there
As I wanted to see this place of which I was told
They said that it had first been an old settlers hut
Right away back in the very early days of old
Who was it lived so far away out here in this old hut
Must have been at least one hundred years ago~
How they survived away out here so far back in time
Where they came from to here I guess we ll never know~
There was remains of fence posts grey, dry and leaning now
An oldest ever home made gate it hung there badly~
But the visions of such happier times lay all about
Though all these years have passed for it now sadly~
There was no more the obvious days of reasonable splendor
It's once day of usefulness have long gone and its need~
The owners of this place would all be gone long ago
Now stands their testament in overgrown scrub and wild weed~
There was some signs of a path still to be seen
Still many oldest rusty tools and signs of once life I see~
And even makeshift toys near an oldest ever tree
Now all a part of a families long ago still secret history~
