The second eternity is upon the horizon
And there's this trembling inside that I just can't shake
Is it tonight's unstable mechanics of a human heartbeat that's frightening?
Or tomorrow's daunting unpredictability of a freak car accident?
My guardian angel is whispering the histories of saints one miracle at a time
Flashing epiphanies like strobe lights before my troubled eyes
Encouraging me to rise above the miserable attractions of depression
The drunken schemes and melodramas, the shameful self-righteousness
Thanks to the souls of generations past we are wiser
Our faith in the human spirit wedged between regrets and jealousies
Risks you were afraid to take will be the tears streaming down your face as the final curtain falls
Never underestimate the magic of your own personal legend or that of others
With a mended heart and an open ear you can learn to love yourself again
Like a predator seeking prey in the fields of Heaven and Earth
Blackness used to be bitterness but it's great to be alive
Led by the grace of God or so we're led to believe
This is a poem for the living
Breathe the possibilities
