DIABETES!!! Then PleaseTake Care!!My kidneys are battered, what can I do? Nowt I guess, cos they're knackered right through! Diabetes, yeah, that's the one that's to blame! That damn condition's now driving me insane!! I think I lived in denial for a while, well, yep! Stupid really, I should have watched my step! But we do what we do, and do it we will, Even though this body's climbing the steepest hill! It struggles enough without me eating the odd sweet, But it's really hard to live on the stuff I eat! I call it a cardboard diet; I live on a sawdust meal! But the odd bar of chocolate I would steal… …Steal from my fridge, not off anyone, oh no! That wouldn't do, cos my God would know! I live as I should, don't steal and don't lie! I'm full of forgiveness; I'm a Christian that's why! But I love how I am, and wouldn't change, And many people find that comment strange! ‘Wouldn't you change the brain tumours and stuff?' ‘Cos your body's a mess, you've got it so rough!' But my reply's always the same, ‘No! Cos I'm blessed!' I wake up every morning, though this body's a mess! That's a miracle in itself, and I am just me! If I went back and changed anything, who would I be? Cos then I wouldn't have my kids in my life, Heck, I may have been a spinster instead of a wife! And I have a husband that loves me true! I know without a doubt, you'd love him too!! He is my soul-mate, oh that's so true! I wouldn't want to be here without him here too! He is my life, my love, my everything! So no, I wouldn't change a single thing! The body may have so much to bear, But I am here, even if it seems unfair! All that I care about, is waking up each day, So every night in my prayers to God I say; ‘Thank you LORD, for this life you gave me,' Cos guys, my doctors say I should be dead you see!! Now why would I change who and what I am? When I love me, and I face everything I can! At times I struggle, as I am just now, But I'll get through it, though I don't know how?
