Subdue Desires
You were brought back to live,
Setting on things above;
Eternal life to give,
The power of His love.
Keep your mind on the things,
That comes down from above;
With the blessing it brings,
And contented thereof.
The things found on this earth,
Just may light a fire;
But temporary worth,
To pleasure desire.
For your life is hidden,
With Jesus Christ in God;
Desires forbidden,
If you honor and laud.
In glory you appear,
At the time Christ returns;
Then it will be real clear,
As better than you yearn.
Get rid the world in you,
The sinful lust and greed;
Take a heavenly view,
Throughout the Gospel seed.
For if you disobey,
You will know of His wrath;
For as long as you stray,
Fire will burn your path.
