When I was in the boy scouts
Ever so very long ago~
They taught us to always be prepared
This saved my life many times its so~
In conversation with some friends
Recently within my home~
Talking came of preperation
When emergancies bight the bone~
They told they never had a first aid box
On hand for family~
And we talked of preperation
For things that just might be~
In this day and age within ones home
So many are not prepared it seems~
For things that can occur so easily
And after which destroys lives and dreams~
To prepare children with a fire escape
What not and what to do~
In cases of emergancies
Is in my mind a must its true~
A well stocked first aid box there
And having taught basics of use~
I am not an alarmist but
These things one should never lose~
It makes so sense in basic ways
To buy that extra tin of food~
And store them somewhere out of the way
For a rainy day to feed a crew~
Like one chops a lot of fire wood
When winter comes around-
And having extra blankets put away
For when snow covers the ground-
Nothing beats a generator at times
A large tarp folded and put away
A reasonable coil of strong new rope
In case of a real true rainy day
This is not a panic thing
It's your family after all said and done~
Preperation it can save a life
With preperation you often have won~
Medicals,Candles, extra blankets and such
Placed safetly away in case~
So often the unexpected it arrives
And with preperation your family can embrace~
It's all for your own true loved ones
Your very own much loved family~
Preperation don't cost much at all
It all makes so much sense to me ~
