Poetic Verses
To the Veterans
It's time that we as people take much better stand
And ensure we take much better care of those veterans
Understanding that it is our duty, to ensure they live comfortably
As the gallantry is was responsible for ensuring we live in safety
We me read of soldiers' great bravery in those pages of history
Now we see the reality of remnant of those who fought against Germany
Then places like Viet Nam, Korea, Iraq and later in Afghanistan too
Those tell tale marks are there for even now the whole world to view.
Some may come back with minds, stilled locked in that zone
Finding great difficulty to adjust to life having to fit in at home
This is so readily depicted by that movie show named Rambo
Just showing it just takes one nudge and back there they can go.
During that activity of war, this can happen for sure
Some may not even make it back alive to their home shore
Then too many faced with too, with such a huge problem
As some of those returning may have lost both or even one limb.
Others may get adjusted quite easily to life in society
Some may find the reintegrating difficult, both mentally and physically
Whilst there will be those who may returned so seriously wounded
Being confined to a life of a vegetable, a state of an invalid
As they have so bravely for the welfare of us
Let us now show even sincerity, by even more generous
By digging even deeper in our pockets, by making a contribution
Thus ensuring their families get that support with remuneration
Yes some guys need extensive care, and lots of therapy
In those areas be it psychologically as well as physically
Thus ensuring that they can have fun like our daddies did
By being able to spend some quality time with their kids?
