Once in England not all that now long ago
I came across musical improvisation it was so
I heard when walking a sound to very neat
Two young fellows were making a real good beat
In an alley two sticks each they both played
On four garbage bins such music the both made
It was a real good beat and their talent clear
Not a lot of noise at all but all music so dear
Not at all any equipment they had on the day
And I stood just listening as they would there play
Really getting into it they never saw me there
And like it or not by some music filled the air
The rhythm was tight and and not out of tune
They knew what they were doing and very soon
Two other kids came with some tins and such
And I'm telling you I liked it so very then much
I knew where I stood that these boys one day
Would do well at this music that they now play
I never left that alley for a good hour or so
It was all so good to hear and improvised ever so
I often wonder how those boys got on in time
With a talent often lost now in rhythm and rhyme
But it was an experience I will not ever forget
The day in an alley such tight music was set .
