The cutest ever things that children often say
They see things so in a very different way
Often it brings a smile to a face right then
And it happens all the time and every day
Like when I was the smallest boy once in time
An old friend of mine he was chopping wood
and he asked me did i know the timbers name
And I scratched my head and said that I should
My knowing everything or as I then thought
I looked at the timber and said yes I do
That is what they call corn Beef wood
And he turned looking at me puzzled true
What on earth has you call it that I ask
I said well it's obvious to me old mate
It's red in the middle and white outside
It looks just like corn beef on my plate
Then one day inside my mum was hitting meat
On a board with a hammer on that very day
And she saw me watching closely and asked
Well do you know what kind of meat is this I say
Yes I said that's what they call nail meat mum
What has you call it that for goodness sake replied
Well you are hitting on it with a hammer so hard
And soon like a nail it'll be as flat as a nail inside
Then one day a lady came to ask mum to make a frock
She stood there on our front steps and we saw her
Through the glass door and we heard her knock
The lady walked in and I looked at her ever so
And then pulling mums dress I softly said
Mum ,, She has not got to faces at all as you say
And mum then cracked me over my very head
It has never changed or been re arranged
Children see things so very wonderfully
And their little honest thoughts as so delightful
Well .. that's how it's always been in life for me .
