Poetic Verses
Thanksgiving
The time is fast approaching when there will be a celebration
A day usually set aside where there will be much gratification
Demonstrating that appreciation for the year's accomplishments
This too many may be reliving some very significant and cherished moments.
There may be those being thankful, that despite the recession
They can consider themselves in not that bad a situation
Even though there may be a slowing down, in that production line
They have dodged that reality of unemployment this time
Other may be so thankful that they will say it over and over again
Gratified that the world is free of Gadhafi and has been un-laden of Bin
Their departure has not from this world removed that threat of terror
Because incubation is one who later will continue this matter,
But so we all worldwide should be on our knees and very please
That we have seen a year in which there is world peace
But despite this many nation are still so very ill at ease
Because a lot of its people are inflicted by some form of disease
Even though thanksgiving is not a feature in my cultural celebration
I did celebrate it even though; this was so far the only occasion
I was so thankful and kind of them to invite me into their family
Even though they spoke Spanish, my time was spent quite happily.
Yes though sad, let be thankful for sharing the lives of those who passed on
Whose thoughts, words and invention, will leave a lasting impression?
Some despite the odds never refuse to be bogged down in any way
So muchas gracias to them is something that we must say,
Therefore remember on this thanksgiving , as you carve that turkey
There will be those perhaps nearby who lives and tables will be empty
And as you swallow the Cranberry and masticate that delicious stuffing
Many will be other the say Merci Beaucoup” even though there are having nothing.
