Lonely cowboys get the blues
The soft grass he lays on.
isn't as soft as she was,
He left her love,
in yesterday's dust,
There is a cowboy,
in all of us,
Sometime we foolishly ride away,
When our heart tells us to stay.
She didn't just want to hear the words,
She wanted to see the proof,
If I tell myself the truth.
A cowboy that rides away,
pays his dues,
A lonely cowboy,
gets the blues.
A lonely cowboy gets the blues.
They have to pay their dues,
With the life that they choose.
Sometime they lose,
A lonely cowboy gets the blues.
She's on his mind,
late at night,
He still can find,
her dancing in the moonlight,
Sometime in bare feet,
Sometime she wears her red high heel shoes.
Those memories so bittersweet,
Leaves His heart so bruised.
The grass he lays on,
isn't as soft as she was,
He left her love.
in yesterday's dust,
He will pay for his wanderer's lust,
That old devil,
makes you pay your dues,
Lonely cowboys get the blues.
He rode off into the sunset,
with bittersweet regret,
the lady he left behind,
will always stay on his mind,
The wind seems to carry
whispers of her name,
The moon and the stars,
remind him of the sparkle in her eyes,
As he fights the battle,
of the empty shadow,
a lonely man's wars,
Sometime in the rain he cries,
The heat of the sun,
revives that flame,
love never dies,
But some hearts can't be tamed.
There is a cowboy,
in all of us,
Somewhere there is love,
left behind,
in yesterday's dust,
Every cowboy,
has to pay their dues.
Sometime a lonely cowboy,
gets the blues
