 THE TRAVELING LIFELONG BUSH POET

THE POWER OF COUNTRY SONGS

Photobucket

Every country boy he has many country songs within
And they all mean so much more though he would't say
All have their own meanings to him as loved as they are
And all decide what in life he'll be and do along the day

Certain country songs they had kept him from the cold
Ever since he was so very young music was in his soul
Right back since all those very youngest days of old
Was always a country song saying boy you've been told
Nomatter where he seemed to go what he seemed to do
In almost all he ever did in life all of the way through
A country song reminded him not to make a single blue
As he already had in my life a lasting love so very true
Being then a country country boy his mind a little strong
Songs were always there to keep him from ever doing wrong
Whenever his mind wandered there popped a country song
And it played in his mind and reminded him again all along
They seemed to play his my mind almost every single way
Playing within his very mind and with all they had to say
If ever he had a thought to ever in life maybe go stray
I CANT STOP LOVING YOU within his mind again would play

Photobucket

They often had him just behave himself ever so very fine
And once again telling him he should simply WALK THE LINE
Turning up like a jukebox that never needed a single dime
Keeping him on the straight and narrow and out of the grime
When he'd be down the street and he'd see a country angel
And where his very true love he could have then down graded
There was a country song popped up within his very mind
And as it played every time I WAS ALMOST PERSUADED
Country boys being country boys so many of them playing
Other songs he'd known at the same time they were saying
ROCK MY WORLD LITTLE COUNTRY GIRL within him still swaying
For a HONKY TONK DANCING MACHINE her talent was then displaying

Again his love's loving voice within a song was within him set
When he needed to be reminded in life of the very love he'd met
And at any time along life's line it was almost one sure bet
A song once again came loud to him AM I THAT EASY TO FORGET
All over time these country songs were with him in every way
Popping up like a concience within his mind every other day
Whenever a thought would cross his mind in it's own very way
He always heard then the music and lyrics as a song would play
There was so many of them that he loved and they were of old
Turning up at that very right time saying boy you've been told
As if all were watching over him to keep his heart from the cold
Most of all at times when a country boy is feeling a little bold.
Some of those around that would hit upon a guy as if a destiny
Where the very visions of a country boys real life's fantasy
And A HONKY TONK DANCING MACHINE mostly she well might be
But then there was always a country song that did not agree

Photobucket

Then he thought of his love, all the love they'd known and won
And there it came LOVING HER WAS THE EASIEST THING I'D EVER DONE
Non of them could replace his true love come rain hale or sun
The very love he had for her he Loved her forever and then some
But here were these other songs that were within his stride
And in oppersition they also played suggesting to him right there
It came I WAS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER AND TOO DAM YOUNG TO CARE
But he held these thoughts at bay as her love took him everywhere
And to give in to what some songs suggests it would not be fair
This war within how it once continued but his love her remained
And as usually he heard I CANT STOP LOVING YOU all over once again
And then there was I LOVE YOU BECAUSE how it would also explaine
Reminding him if he threw his true love away he'd have to be insane
Old country songs always within his soul always kept right on talking
Like as if a cowboy without a concience at all they kept on chalking
To forget his true love for moments and go out HONKY TONK WALKING
He never wanted to look in his mind and say she's no longer with me
And as he would think of this right then he'd hear ME AND BOBBY McGEE
But so many of those country songs would softly say you've been told
As he'd walk that cowboy walk to the SAN ANTONIO STROLL
He was always enjoying life but how these country songs would play
And these many old country songs deep within him always had a say
Music was such a part of him but as well reminding him all the time
Of ,, YOU'VE GOT TO KISS AN ANGEL GOOD MORNING if you want love divine.
