Having been born in a beautiful garden nursery
My parents had Shalimar Nursery away back then
In a country town from the Snowy just down
How I grew to love my gardening away back when
I inherited my mothers greenest fingers long ago
And that very talent it still today my very own
Seldom ever I've had anything to speak of die on me
From the plants trees bushes and any seeds sown
I loved all my exotics that I learned how to grow
And as well adored all the fragrances they'd give
So many different smells within a garden grand
Ever since and back in the garden home I lived
Loved so the very smell of the large old Roses
And that one of fragrance of the freesias too
How I adored the strong smell of the Daphne
And the vines like the Honeysuckle then I knew
Along the avenue how I loved the golden Wattle
And the fruit tree beautiful blossom there as well
In the country near how I loved the Lemon gums
And the fragrance of the many then flowering bell
How I loved the many fragrances of my gardens
All of which I've had over time since so long ago
Those special smells that of each one they tell
All those fragrances I adore and of each one I know'
So very many are and were they that I admired growing
And many more I wished I had still to this day
Really loved my gardening and the things I grew
That even in ones garden give of such fragrant display
