Endless Gift
We were born that day
when hope was born
in a simple woman's arms
was held the price of
our souls
and stars,
centuries frozen in light,
were dimmed by an
unsung monarch
far from His throne,
a spirit who just
moments ago
ruled every world.
Today unlock the golden cage
formed of vapor and dust
no more substantial
than breath,
and in wonder
see millennia to come:
Death destroyed death,
love bleached the night
unearthly white,
and in the Life
that continues
we find ours.
