Another year draws to a close
Another day, financial woes
Seem to have their way this year
Upon the surface of hearts quite clear
The need to give a gift unto
A child's wish a dream come true
A family who's in dire need
A meal and love to intercede
Maybe next door or down the street
Maybe your gift a chance to meet
The broken and the new without
A cause to feel a turn about
That change you saved for rainy days
Small part of it if thought could pay
For a warm drink of hot cocoa
Someone with less that you don't know
A doll of sorts for lonely child
A brand new friend in you your smile
Could mend a heart that lost their way
If just your time well spent will help today
A hug that cost nothing to give
To reassure that GOD does live
Inside of you who wishes well
To those with less living dry spells
You, yes you who reads this one
Become like father to a son
Mother once there no longer here
Your presence felt will hold them dear
Be kind to those you do not know
Share of this day with love in tow
For one day maybe you will find
Yourself in dire straits in time
Give of your heart if all you do
Give of yourself to someone new
Who knows of Christmas, of the past
When family came to share of last
Give to all a cheerful start
Become like CHRIST and do your part
To tell someone they truly matter
Help those with less with more not latter
