Nurturing a New NatureSince Christ physically suffered, As read according to the Word; You need have the same attitude, And merely stop being so rude. For a person who has suffered, His own soul will then become stirred; And so no longer will they sin. That way you will douse the fires, That is guides sinful desires; As you live the rest of your life, Without the fear of wrathful strife. Instead, the Lord will be your guide, As He will come in to abide; Leading what He wants you to do, With each and every day through. You spent enough time in the past, Serving the lusts that do not last; Worshipping all of your treasures, Giving temporary pleasures. Going out to flirt with the dames, All night playing computer games; Wild parties and getting drunk, Then all of your classes you flunk. So do not be holding a grudge, When the Lord comes ready to judge; The Good News is you are not late, For to repent and compensate. Copyright © 2011 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
