THE CHRISTMAS STORYTHE CHRISTMAS STORY PREPARED BY KATHY COLLIER (SUNSHINE 12) JOHN 1:14 (King James Version) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Here we have the Christmas Story in one verse. The Word was made flesh. The Word is the Logos meaning Jesus Christ. The Hebrews knew the word logos in Old testament was Dabar-Yahweh meaning The Word of God. There the word was God's divine self-expression in creation, revelation and deliverance. Here we have The Word made flesh. The Christmas Story. Jesus Christ, the second person of the God Head, left His home in Glory to be born as a baby. 1. The Word was made flesh. He lay aside His Heavenly robes and was born of a virgin and dwelt among us. 2. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born as a baby and grew into a man. Here we have the work of the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. 3. The glory of the only Begotten of the Father. This means Jesus was begotten of the Father. There was and will never be another like Him. He was unique. He is not a created being, He is the Creator. He was/is all God and He was/is all man. 4. Full of grace and truth. Grace meaning unmerited favor with God. There is nothing you and I can do that would cause God to love us. He loves us because He chooses to. Have a blessed day in Jesus' name. ©2011 KATHY COLLIER Vote for this poem
