Have you ever heard of a grown cat that doesn't like kittens? I haven't, until this week. I got a kitten from a next door neighbour. She is only about four or five weeks old. I had to give her back the same day I got her. My grown cat Pepper, is an idiot. All he did was hiss at her. He tried to take a few swipes at her as well, but I wouldn't allow it.
Pepper is a good cat. Don't get me wrong. But, I find him to be very possessive, and territorial. There are a few more kittens around in my area and all he does, is fight, hiss, swipe and chase them. I don't know if it's his age, or what the problem is. He's about a little over two years old. He's as friendly as I don't know what, but when it comes to having a tiny kitten around, there's always something off about him.
I was thinking about keeping the kitten, but to be quite honest, I don't trust Pepper at all. He could have killed the kitten in the middle of the night and I wouldn't have been able to find out until the next morning.
So, to save the kitten's life, I gave her back to the neighbour.
