A letter to my dear Mother
Dear Mother,
I shed a tear for you today
For I know one day you will go away
No matter how strong you try to be
Dear mother, don't you see
It comes like a thief in the night
It steals your joy and gives us fright
You want desperately to hold on
But life is a bitter sweet song
Years ago, the loss of your soul mate
Finally the loss has molded you into a different state
In you I saw a glimpse of a lonely soul
Winter is creeping in with its harsh icy cold
We don't know what it will bring-
As sure as the robin in spring will sing-
I notice lately how you are wearing down
As your weary feet hit the ground
I admire your courage and outlook on life
To our dad a very special wife, you faced all strife
You've been there for us all
Your out stretched hands answered our every need and call
Loving mother dear, you are
My beautiful forever shining star
You say you are tired and in need of rest
Go ahead, lay down your burdens and do not stress
May warm soothing waters ease the strain
Like gentle raindrops cascading down your window pane
May you survive another winter of cold and rain
Come spring, may you smile and feel renewed again
