Take Care at Christmas

Here it comes and quite quickly another Christmas day
How happy the children look as their toys they display
Having those ones from manual those which are electronic
Some with laptop computers, cell phones and other gadgets

What great joy as they show them so happily around
Whilst making those phone calls, checking out the reception
All of last year's gifts are now confined to the storage
Many of today's ones will soon have that same passage.

In the air there is an aroma from the food on the table, so well set
With such a variety of food, taking on the look of a banquet
But what can be so annoying, as some will go wasting
Because some will fill plates and leave after just sampling

How often we seem to cultivate some extravagant ways
And more often than not always around the Christmas holidays
Eating, drinking, days of partying supported by lot of wasting
Whilst quite nearby someone close is most certainly starving?

As our children's eyes get light with so much glee
On opening their gifts, that were under the Christmas tree
They should remember that somewhere other children are not so lucky
And they would be happy with their last year's one quite easily.

So when we get into that mode which reeks of extravagance
Talk to the children and give them a well deserved lesson in prudence
Teach them how to care, love and most certainly appreciate
What they have, as it takes very little to have change in fate.
