No You at Christmas

Five years have passed since you have gone
But that moment of that day still sadly lives on
How you departed on this happy time of the year
Did not get chance to say goodbye, that's it's still hard to bear

How now decorated with all those flashing light
When you were around, they looked so beautifully bright
Because combined like a Doppler effect with you radiant smile
The intensity and the luminance could be seen from many a mile.

Those decorations that hung so magnificently from the tree
Seem to have lost all that appeal and effect to me
As somehow I have lost that feeling for the season
Because there is no you, to enliven my celebration

Even now too as I sit here sipping this glass of wine
This brand was the one we preferred when we sat to dine
Now it tasted so bland, as now I cannot hold your hand
But I wish for some miracle that somehow I can

As the flame from that fireplace began to glow
Its warmth somehow I seem not to feel anymore
Because you are not here to conduct in my direction
That warmth through convection and also too by radiation

On Christmas day yes there will be the children and grandchildren
Seeing them too will bring me happiness on that occasion
In each one of them, I will always see images of you
Your absence wills may I cry and this will affect them too.
