Poetic-Verses

'' I'm A Regal Parasite ''

One lives a life of luxury,
I'm a multi millionaire,
Wherever in this world I go,
The people stop and stare.

I travel all around the world,
But what one finds really odd,
Is some places that I visit,
Look upon me as a God.

When my subjects come to meet me,
They're told to stoop and bow,
If they knew what I was thinking,
They would certainly raise a brow.

Despite the fact my subjects starve,
I live in perfect splendour,
While they're dying of starvation,
One's on a lifelong bender.

You pay me just for being there,
I take life really slow,
What the hell you see in me,
I guess I'll never know.

I have loads of fancy houses,
There are my servants who await,
I'm similar to the workshy,
In that one's paid for by the state.

The maintenance costs are yours as well,
I don't have to pay a thing,
One looks at life and wonders,
What more can this life bring.

I have the usual hangers on,
You pay for them as well,
A husband, sons and a daughter,
We are like a large cartel.

We have blood relatives everywhere,
That way we can ensure,
If we keep our breeding all in house,
Our bloodline will stay pure.

I don't know what it is to work,
But they say that's what I do,
Who am I to argue,
If they say it, it must be true.

They say we're in a recession,
Could you tell me what that means,
For we don't really give a damn,
As long as we get our greens.

We need to rob your pension funds,
One needs money more than you,
I'm like the politicians,
I don't care who I do.

One has a fleet of luxury cars,
A private jet and train,
Yes you pay to keep them all,
May one thank you once again.

I'm gratified that you are there,
For I'm a person in great need,
So keep the readies rolling in,
One has hungry mouths to feed.

I know what you are thinking,
But you really should be told,
I'll be here forever more,
My kingdom must never fold.

They say we live in a democracy,
But nobody votes for me,
When I die my heir steps in,
They get everything for free.

The absence of hereditary lines,
Is a democratic rule,
No privileges or distinctions,
If you believe that you're a fool.

Religion also plays it's part,
So I think it should be known,
If you are not of my faith,
You won't sit on my throne.

That turns democracy on it's head,
I trust one's made it clear,
If this country were democratic,
I would not be here.

As well as being faithful,
To myself you must be loyal,
For I am your head of state,
I'm the ultimate in royal.

I think you've guessed my line of work,
At last you've seen the light,
Unlike those bastards in the lords,
