A Woman
I remember many things
About your baby years
When you fell and hurt your knee,
I kissed away your tears.
The day you started nursery,
The day you started school
Screaming for your mummy
Then learning to be cool.
The times we used to sing a song
Or maybe sit a talk.
I remember your first word
And when you learned to walk.
Then into your teenage years
Boyfriends, moped, car.
I remember everything
That makes you what you are.
Happy birthday darling girl
May all your dreams come true.
Remember that I love you
Whatever you may do.
Today is very special
It should be full of fun
Because sweetheart, my little girl`s
A woman - twenty-one.
