Grandpa's SmileLooking older on the outside, inside were forever young, Outside we keep our wrinkles, while our inner song is sung, People say we're grumpy, but a child sees more than that. Children just simply look beyond straight into poppy's heart, Grandpas have pockets full of sweets and heads full of tales, Of times sailing the seven seas making friends with the whales, Grandpas are rich with wisdom, with a clever moral in their story, Sewn together with love and cunning, teaching humility never glory, Grandpas sit in their favourite chair with grandchildren on their knee, As their grandpa did before them, to create their own piece of history, Grandpas have a cheeky wink, I wonder where they learned that from, You can do no wrong in grandpa's eyes, he's a safe port in any storm. Look into that old and wrinkly face or as he calls them, maturity lines. That sparkle always in his eyes, tells children what his soul defines, Engrossed listening to his ageless stories, both intent to idle a while, Any child knows where the magic is, it's a wink and grandpa's smile.
