~*`DANCE OF THOUSAND HANDS`*~
Though this is not Bharatnatyam,it shares many similarities with karanas of that dance,
as well as Indic origins and influence of Buddhism, as especially seen in the costumes
and mudras. However, this is now truly a creation of its own Chinese cultural context
and should be seen in the proper light with respect to the Chinese artists.
And Chinese viewers should also realize the debt owed to their neighbor.
Art should not be about jingoism but universality.
Buddhism stems from Hinduism. Bhuddha, SIDHARTHA, Gautam Bhud, was the 10th re-incarnation
of lord Vishnu and he was born in India. This beautiful and magical dance is definitely
a form of Shiva Dance. The barat natyam, which is the main component of this beautifully
performed dance, comes from Lord Shiva. One day he was angry and he did his tandad,
one of the sage watched him and wrote the barat natyam.
Awsome!..never seen anything like it..beautiful..magical!!
Well, this is called the dance of Thousand Hand's GuanYin ( A Buddhism God), from China.
And the amazing thing is that these dancers are deaf.
