Roaming the Wilderness

Set free from bondage and delivered from destruction
The path way cleared from every obstruction
The direction was given, the destination set
Prosperity and peace is a sure bet
The journey is short, well within reach
The security strong, not one breach
So why are we not there yet, why do we seem lost
We assessed the situation, we counted the cost
The dept was paid, the we've seen the prize
At least in our minds if not with our eyes
Yet we roam the wilderness of fear and doubt
Feeling through darkness to find our way out
A bright morning star lights the way
But  the smallest of hills cause us to stay
Oh my how long this trip seems to be
So far beyond everything we see
Maybe these weights are holding us down
Perhaps we should throw them on the ground
The hate, the shame, the guilt, the blame
The stress, the strain, the hurt, the pain
The memories of failure from the past
Then depart from this wilderness at last
Moving forward into the promised land
Profess the victory and take a stand
Confess our faults to God and each other
Walk in obedience and love one another
Then will we live in the privelidge of peace and forgiveness
Forever free from the confines of the wilderness
