Enchantress of the lord of the Heaven
Goddess Indrani, the Queen of cosmos
Bestows prowess to Her worshipers!
By Her compassionate glances
Cools down the heat of the worldly sins
And protects sages and pious people,
By Her shining looks helps the angels,
By Her beauty She fascinates the Lord,
By Her compassionate glances
Bestows power to the righteous,
By Her kindness gives joy to Her children;
May She shine as the golden rayed Sun
In the space of the hearts of devotees!

Her face shines as the autumnal moon
Her tresses shine as blue-black clouds
Her eyes shine as beautiful blue lotuses;
May Her sweet smile light up the quarters
To wash down the darkness of the ignorance!

Obeisance to Durga, the Mother of the world,
Whose breasts shine as golden pitchers bearing
Nectar to feed all creatures of the three worlds;
That Lady whose body bears invisible
Cosmic flames and who gave birth
To the Sun, Moon, Stars and the Earth;
That Lady who is all pervading as the Sky
Shall enter my body like a river of energy;
May She flow as brilliant light in my veins!
May She flow as blissful nectar in my mind!
May She flow immortal light through my words!
May that Lady ever shine in my heart’s lotus!
