 My today's thoughts

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US

Psalm 139:1-6

King James Version

A Psalm of King David in his worshiping of God

1 O Lord, Thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, Thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, Thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid Thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

My understanding of these Scriptures
≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

God is all knowledge
God is present everywhere
God is all power
God knows me and you inside and outside.  He knows everything about us.
This is not something to be afraid of; it is something to be thankful for.

1.  David's prayer to God in his worship.
He acknowledges that God has searched (probed the deep parts of his heart, the parts David
thought were hidden from man and from God).  He knew God knew him.

2. He confessed God knows when he is sitting (maybe just daydreaming, like he did over Bathsheba).
He knows God knows when he lays down (maybe going to bed for rest or folly).
He says God understands his thoughts afar (David knew God did not condone sin in his life.
He knew God was a forgiving God who forgives sin when it is confess and repented of).
To repent means to change your mind about what sin is; to turn away from it and go in a different direction.

3. He says God compassest (examine, inspects, explores) his path (his walk in life, his life style)
and his lying down (when he went to sleep or just resting).  God knew all that was going on in his life.

4. David said God knew every word he spoke.
None were hidden from Him.
In todays life we can apply this to what is typed also.
Often one thinks what they say or typed will not be revealed.
When it is in cyber space it is there forever.
We as Christians must be especially careful of what we say and the way we say it.

5. David knew God hast beset (to hem in, meaning to make a complete circle all around him) him behind and before.
He then says God has laid His hand upon him.  Wow! To be touched by God's hand.  To my way of thinking
life does not get any better than that.  You know we who are called by His name are touched by His hand.  We are
held in the hollow of His hand.  Nothing can happen to us that He does not allow.  I say again "WOW"!

6. David in his worshiping of God says, "This knowledge (to know that God is with him at all times) is so wonderful
his human mind could not absorb it all".

In this New Year let us do as King David did. Let us Praise and Worship our God
in the way to bring glory and honor to Him.

Let us be careful of what we say and the way we use our words.
Let us be kind to one another, forgiving one anther as Christ forgave us.
Let us remember we who are called by His name
are beset (to hem in, meaning to make a complete circle) by Jesus.

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US

In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

God's blessing and love to all of you.
