+ The Promise Of Easter ©
Praise the Lord this coming easter day
for without Him our souls be lost,
take time out to remember
just what it did cost.
That day upon the cross
should n'er leave our heart,
for how our Saviour suffered
forsaking himself from the start.
He was badly beaten and scarred
in such a way we can't imagine,
they kept striking Him that day
as His skin was laid wide open.
As the nails pierced His flesh
a crown of thorns pierced His head,
He laid down his life for us
and this is what He said....
Your sins are forgiven my child
thy will on earth be done,
for on that resurrection morn
the battle had been won.
I now sit at my Father's side
looking out for you from Heaven,
and to save you from yourselves
i'd gladly do it all again!
