The Least I Can Do
There was a time when I thought I knew what it was to love
But you have shown me things I had not thought of
Life is all so wonderful when true love has been revealed
More than just a word we say or the goose bumps we feel
I thought I was a good man, I just knew had it down
But I have learned the truth of it since you’ve been around
You often thank me for the love I have for you
But after what you’ve have given me, it’s the least I can do
Through patience and understanding, forgiveness and faith
I have no choice but to return the same love everyday
I’m not the wisest of men, I don’t always catch on quick
My heart a little stubborn, and my head a little thick
But I would have to be a total fool not to see
That  I didn’t deserve it at times, but  you really loved me
And so my love, I can’t take the credit for the love I return to you
With all the unconditional love you give me, it’s the least I can do
As the years fly by and more years arrive
I will never forget how you brought my love alive
Now I know without a doubt in my mind
That my quest for joy has yielded a priceless find
My heart has found fulfillment, my life is now complete
God has given the victory in exchange for defeat
He gave me the wisdom and will to love you
After all you are a gift, so it’s the least I can do.
