Sometimes there are no words
Words
Sometimes there are no words
What words are there
To tell a mother or a father
That their child
Will never be coming
Back home
What words do you offer
To a husband
Or a wife
What words can you give
A child
To let them know
That the one that they love
Gave their very life
To preserve their
Freedom and their safety
Words
Sometimes there simply are no words
In times like these
There are six
That are often given
By those fighting back their own tears
Offering their prayers
With a neatly folded flag
Six words that are spoken
Way too often
We are sorry for your loss
