The hanging tree.
came up from under the radar,
strolled over the hill to see.
walked hand in hand with the devil
stood at the hanging tree.
watched crowds yell and jeer
like a carnival had begun
saw a young man dangling
it destroyed all the fun;
saw brother against brother.
tear each other apart in rage!
turned my head disgusted
tore out another page.
