A Piece of Mind
The price was high but pressed he did
To bring forth right some would forbid
A piece of mind to open doors
A say, a right to world implore
He'd speak of love and peace between
Color and unspoken dreams
A portrait of a better place
Upon this sphere, of human race
He met with anger and discord
Amongst people not in accord
Between the hate of colored lines
He drew forth strength and too the time
Time to change mindsets primal
History of mans survival
For wars were fought for this passage
A civil right a clear message
His work was no different than one
Who came to be and also won
The hearts of all in need of change
A change, a due, of broken chains
Man of GOD, too soon taken
By hate, by fists still shaken
When will we change, this violent sphere
Conjured in heart of love man fears
He had a dream to live together
Imagine such peace mankind could weather
