Where the Seed Fell(The Stony Place)
The timing was great, the season was right
The conditions were perfect, temperature and light
The ground had been troubled for so long now
It needed to be harvested some way, some how
Along comes this farmer with go seed to sow
He prepared his seed and began to throw
As the winds of time soon gave chase
And some seed fell in a stony place
Surely the Word was excepted with great joy
But the times and seasons began to annoy
The seed had no root yet began to grow
But the fruit of that tree never did show
The ground got hot and the air grew cold
Since the roots weren't deep the tree couldn't hold
So is the one who receives the Word of God
The praise and the worship seems kind of odd
But the love and forgiveness is like a welcomed friend
So they open the soil and let the seed in
It grows for a while as the blessing start to fall
Now expectations of a tree strong and tall
Enter the persecution and the stones of doubt
The offence gets heavy and the roots come out
The stones represent old friends and old ways
Old habits and past sins and reminders of bad days
The stones represent the lack of courage to admit
And confess the move of the Holy Spirit
So the seed that began to grow that beautiful day
Was in buried by stones and taken away
The farmer will return one day to sow
Next time allow the seed to grow
