Mere Mortal Man
Exchange a life for man not pure
A sacrifice of hurt endured
As arms would spread and feet were pressed
Impaled for sin, for you no less
A gift unwrapped upon a tree
Love sacrificed for every need
An act no one but Him performed
Tearing the veil today still torn
A message His but once again
Many today don't comprehend
The need to seek before it's time
For all to go or stay behind
Concept some fail to grasp this day
Yet in grand scope even today
A world in need dies slow a death
As souls this day breathe their last breath
Maybe someone you know off hand
Maybe just you that failed to plan
Around this day that came and went
Around a life wasted one spent
Give GOD his due and know of peace
Serving yourself will not increase
Treasures this day as many think
As life will pass before eyes blink
Today is yours, forever His
Of this you failed to jot on list
Another chance before the damned
Becomes of you mere mortal man
