Once upon a dream in my child hood-
I walked along with my mother in a street
Looking at the sky in the silence of night
She said with a twinkle in her eye :
"Look at the milky way, our God is there
Sitting in contemplation on his own creation!"
Then, I saw a huge ethereal shape in the sky
Formed out of countless stars of the heaven!

Once upon a dream in my school days-
Awakened to the sweet notes of the birds
Amid the bushes and trees of a paradise
I saw a bevy of heavenly damsels in red silks
Singing and dancing and coming on a fantastic toe
Collecting fragrant flowers in their baskets
They past towards the golden gates of the east
In a hurry to attend their princess Dawn!

Once upon a dream in my college days-
Awakened in a golden hall of my heart's cavern
As I was reading hieroglyphs and carved images
In a flash of lightening appeared a goddess;
I saw her lovely feet dancing on a dais
To the sweet notes of lutes upon my nerves
With rhythmic drum-beats coursing in my blood
In a rapture of sweet delight my senses fainted
She said: I am the princess of the Sun,
I want to offer you a precious love gift
This is yours, the divine lotus of my heart!-
Stating thus she showed me one
Lustrous lotus with dazzling rays of Sun
Upon her bosom and vanished in the dream!
