Duties We Owe
Pay off your debts as they come due,
They will think more highly of you;
A friend can turn into a foe,
If you do not pay what you owe.
But one debt that you will still pay,
Is love you owe every day;
The love that you owe each other,
Treating as sister and brother.
The one who loves then has fulfilled,
The teachings that Moses instilled;
Through your leisure and your labor,
You should always love your neighbor.
Love never gives out any alarm,
Nor would ever cause any harm;
To yourself or towards your neighbor,
Which does flow from our Savior.
Therefore love will always fulfill,
Never to lie or steal or kill;
And with the times that we live,
So be more appreciative.
Time for to wake up from your sleep,
Let your faith take a giant leap;
Since the night soon draws to a close,
And the day will judge our foes.
Rid the things that are of the night,
And prepare to enter the light;
Shield and armor for protection,
Fighting the sinful deception.
