THE MUR RETREAT

THE MUR RETREAT

The stairway spills into the life-walk of a busy street,
where gentle are the breezes that sweep the concrete

in this little rustic town, known as The Mūr Retreat

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
Tree lined avenues enhance quiet conversations,
as intellectuals discuss their observations
of a few prosaic affairs, and alike occupations
 **************************~
Between the smile of the sun's long-armed rays,
cardinals flutter-paint shadows inside the maze
of a garden where the maestro often plays
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

A lollipop of colors form a touch-me-not rainbow
while lending vividness to a faded little bungalow
with a quaint personality and a rusty Dutch hoe

 **************************~

An elderly woman is knitting bits of lore
in skeins of historical color as she closes the door
On the final pages --- ending the ‘Thirty Years War'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
So visit when you can, for it brings peace and rest
to the weary wanderer who has met life's test
wearing strands of emotions….. And conquering the crest
