Godly Zeal
Foolish sons ruin their fathers,
As well as to disgrace their mothers;
Squandering foolishly money,
Then looks to dad for milk and honey.
You inherit your home and wealth,
But you need to care for own health;
Beautiful girls you have adored,
But prudent wives come from the Lord.
Laziness only makes you sleep,
While godly zeal will make you leap;
The Law preserves life with each breath,
Snub the Law and pronounce your death.
When taking pity on the poor,
God will lead you through the right door;
And repay you for your good deed,
When you are urgently in need.
Discipline will still give you hope,
That your son will not be a dope;
So you do not hold guilt or shame,
As a fugitive for his name.
Your heart is set for destruction,
If Satan uses seduction;
And lures your son to go astray,
Then he will argue and disobey.
Get him to accept discipline,
And live godly away from sin;
Maybe it makes a little strife,
But wiser the rest of his life.
